Editorial Standards

Last updated: July 3, 2026

These standards describe how we produce The Daily Query. They exist so you know what our coverage is, what it is not, and how to hold us to account.

Sourcing

We are an analysis and synthesis publication. We do not conduct original interviews or claim exclusive scoops. Every factual claim in an article traces to a primary source (a company announcement, filing, research paper, or official statement) or to established reporting from named outlets. We link to those sources inline so you can verify them yourself. If we cannot source a claim, we do not print it as fact.

Accuracy over speed

We would rather be right than first. Before publishing, we check specifics such as names, dates, dollar figures, and quotes against the original source. When reporting conflicts or a detail is unconfirmed, we say so plainly rather than pick the most dramatic version.

Use of AI

We use AI tools in researching and drafting our articles. Those drafts are reviewed and edited by a person before anything is published, and a human is responsible for every piece that goes live. We treat AI as a research and writing aid, not as an unchecked author. This is a technology publication, and we think being transparent about how we use the technology is the least we can do.

Opinion and analysis

Much of our writing is analysis, which means it contains judgment and, in our Opinion section, arguments. We try to separate what is known (sourced fact) from what we think (our read on it), and to state the strongest version of the other side before disagreeing with it.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and note the change rather than quietly editing it away. If you spot an error, email hello@thedailyquery.com and we will look into it.

Advertising and independence

We may display advertising and use affiliate or referral links to fund the site. Advertisers and partners have no say in our editorial coverage or conclusions. See our privacy policy for how advertising and analytics handle data.
